The Dorothy H. OƵConnor Pet Adoption Center (DOCPAC) partnered with the kitchen appliance shop Pampered Chef to hold a completely virtual fundraiser for the holidays. A portion of all Pampered Chef sales will be donated to DOCPAC to assist with its continued efforts to help animals in the community.

Pampered Chef offers a variety of kitchen appliances and features a number of holiday sales. The virtual fundraiser began on Nov. 25 and all donations to the pet adoption center go directly into their operations funds.

Ƶ[Pampered Chef] reached out to our media director about wanting to help out with the shelter animals,Ƶ Amber Branecky, DOCPAC event coordinator, said. ƵAnything we get from them goes straight into our funds [for] daily necessities and helps us keep everything moving along with all the animals.Ƶ

The funds collected through the partnership will make a major impact on DOCPACƵs operations. The pet adoption center faced struggles with limited funding in the past, so the fundraising help they received from Pampered Chef makes a very positive difference during the holidays, Branecky said.

When customers enter DOCPAC, many of them ask questions about the fundraiser. Employees make sure to keep the community well informed of the virtual partnership with promotion through their various social media channels. The local community makes a positive impact on DOCPAC and have shown their support for the organization and their willingness to give during the holiday season.

ƵIt feels good, ItƵs like a warm feeling,Ƶ Branecky said. ƵIt feels good to know we have a lot more community involvement. ItƵs just another way that weƵre involving a different variety of people, people who [may be] from a different area. WeƵre out there a little bit more, appealing to a different audience.Ƶ

DOCPAC has a number of holiday fundraisers in addition to this one. Life Celebrations has partnered with DOCPAC for an ornament fundraiser. The company offers personalized, hand-crafted wooden ornaments and 50 percent of all sales of the ornaments will be donated to DOCPAC. The Life Celebrations fundraiser ends Dec. 8.

Presents for Pets is another holiday initiative at DOCPAC. Community members can donate various necessary gifts, from blankets to cleaning supplies to dog toys. Smith STEM Academy will participate in a Presents for Pets event titled Pet Parade on Dec. 16.
