The two Belgrade men who died in an icy crash on U.S. 191 south of Four Corners on Monday have been identified as 55-year-old Juan Farias and 22-year-old Oscar Jacuinde, the Gallatin òòò½ÊÓƵ Sheriff's Office said Thursday in a press release.

In the original Montana Highway Patrol report, Farias was listed as being from Las Vegas.

Farias was driving a GMC Sierra on the way to Big Sky when the vehicle spun out of control and collided with a Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a cement mixer, according to MHP. Jacuinde was a passenger.

Both Farias and Jacuinde were pronounced dead at the scene. Their deaths were ruled accidental and by blunt-force trauma.

Five others were injured, including a 24-year-old Las Vegas man who was a passenger in the Sierra.

The driver of the Dodge Ram 3500 was a 36-year-old man from Gallatin Gateway. Three male passengers also were in the truck: a 34-year-old from Belgrade and 28- and 24-year-olds from Bozeman.

According to MHP, the southbound Sierra lost control on snow and ice, spun counterclockwise, crossed the center line and hit the northbound Dodge Ram. The Sierra landed in a field on the east side of the highway and caught fire.

MHP said speed was suspected in the crash. It was unknown whether the two men who died were wearing seatbelts; the passenger in the Sierra who survived was wearing a seatbelt as were the four men in the Dodge Ram.
