Ten cadets from Victoria Collegeòòò½ÊÓƵ™s 105th Law Enforcement Academy Class were honored at a graduation ceremony on Dec. 11, 2024, at VCòòò½ÊÓƵ™s Emerging Technology Complex.

Job Smith of Victoria was named class valedictorian, and Cobey Wasicek of Victoria received the John Baylor Award for Outstanding Achievement. The award, named in honor of the former Victoria Police Department officer, is given to the òòò½ÊÓƵœmost outstanding studentòòò½ÊÓƵ as selected by class instructors.

Other graduates were Austin Christensen and Briley Yancey of Victoria; Mario Barron, Justin Cano and Vanessa Ragsdale, all of Beeville; Adrian Castillo and Abad Obregon of Gonzales; and Joseph Salinas of Kenedy.

VC offers two academies a year òòò½ÊÓƵ“ one in the fall semester and another in the spring semester. Both academies are held Monday through Friday, with classes meeting eight to ten hours a day.
