MADILL, Okla. (KTEN) òòò½ÊÓƵ” With two years left in his term, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt says there is more he wants to accomplish in the Sooner State.
The Republican leader stopped in Marshall òòò½ÊÓƵ on Thursday to hear from constituents.
Business courts, more electricity generation and tax cuts were all topics of conversation Stitt as he visited southeastern Oklahoma.
Those in attendance at an event in Madill had their questions and comments ready, specifically addressing the tax increment financing district plan for the massive Pointe Vista development on Lake Texoma.
"If Oklahoma grows, everybody gets better. It helps our schools and our businesses, and our roads and our bridges... everything gets better when we get our economy booming," Stitt said. "That's why it doesn't come around every day to have a billion dollar investment in your county, and we can't let this pass us by."
Grant Speakes, President of Pointe Vista attended the State of the State, telling KTEN their goal is to be good neighbors when they set their sights on Oklahoma as the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel takes shape in the county.òòò½ÊÓƵ
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it's great to see the governor acknowledge that and we're in a great position as a state to keep growing and keep making things better," Speakes said.òòò½ÊÓƵ
