As summer draws near, the Victoria Independent School District (VISD) is making preparations for the 2025-2026 school year. One objective set by the district is to fill current staff vacancies and acquire high-quality teachers for the upcoming year.

Peak hiring season for school districts across the state has begun, and VISD is implementing strategies and initiatives to recruit top-tier educators who have an òòò½ÊÓƵœexcellence for allòòò½ÊÓƵ mindset, according to a VISD communications press release.

òòò½ÊÓƵœRecruiting during peak season allows us to meet motivated candidates early and ensure weòòò½ÊÓƵ™re bringing the very best to our campuses,òòò½ÊÓƵ Tammy Nobles, VISD executive director of human resources, said. òòò½ÊÓƵœWe encourage anyone interested in working in education to connect with us at one of the many job fairs weòòò½ÊÓƵ™re attending or hosting this spring.òòò½ÊÓƵ

VISD has attended a number of job fairs across Texas in an effort to make potential hires aware of the opportunities a career at the district would offer. The district attended three job fairs in March and three more the first two days in April.

In March, the district attended job fairs at the University of Texas at Austin, Region 3 and Texas A&M University in College Station. In April, VISD attended job fairs at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas State University and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The district will attend a fair at the Education Service Center Region 20 on Friday, April 4.

òòò½ÊÓƵœVISD is seeking to connect with passionate individuals ready to make a difference in the lives of students,òòò½ÊÓƵ the VISD press release read. òòò½ÊÓƵœTeacher job fairs serve as a vital recruitment tool, giving districts like VISD the opportunity to meet high-quality candidates face-to-face and share more about their campuses, student support programs and professional development opportunities.òòò½ÊÓƵ

VISD will host two teacher job fairs in addition to the events they have attended and plan to attend across the state. The district job fairs are made available to certified teachers and individuals who hold a bacheloròòò½ÊÓƵ™s degree and are interested in becoming certified.

The first VISD teacher job fair will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the VISD Administration Building Board Room. The second job fair will be held Friday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Victoria Fine Arts Center.

VISD will look to hire those interested in various district support positions in addition to teacher positions.
